i saw you on the L train?

Brooklyn Australian artist, Sophie Blackall, who we most famously know from childrens' book illustrations from books such as Ivy & Bean, has made a blog based on missed connections of New York City.  As Sophie says, "Messages in bottles, smoke signals, letters written in the sand; the modern equivalents are the funny, sad, beautiful, hopeful, hopeless, poetic posts on Missed Connections websites. Every day hundreds of strangers reach out to other strangers on the strength of a glance, a smile or a blue hat. Their messages have the lifespan of a butterfly. I'm trying to pin a few of them down."
They are quite fun to look at: missed connections

Summer in the Northern hemisphere is coming to an end, but travelling doesn't have to end with this new website I found that allows you to search places globally and look at some of the most stunning landscapes and photographs from all over! What a fun idea:

fantastic mr. fox !

It's been almost a month.  I know, I'm not a very good blogger.  Or I'm just becoming very lazy and spending more and more time at the beach, and less and less time on the computer.  But, wait no longer, because I'm back on the web and Fantastic Mr. Fox is coming soon thanks to our beloved Wes Anderson...check out the unique animation and stellar cast!
